Best Vintage Signs in East Nashville

When you think of signs, what are some of the first things that come to your mind? How big is it? Is it neon? A cool shape? Is it old? These are some are the qualities I look at to decide which signs I like. Retro signs are awesome. They always have a story to tell. One of the coolest signs in East Nashville is “Weiss Liquors”. When I first saw it, I thought, “wow this looks old,” and I was right. That sign has been there for decades! It’s one of the oldest liquor stores in the state of Tennessee. It’s a neon sign that might not look like much in daylight but when night time comes around, it glows. Another vintage sign is “Hosse & Hosse Security & Hardware”. Their sign is in the shape of key, perfect for their brand. They are the “oldest operating locksmith company in Tennessee and the seventh oldest business in Nashville.” Seems like that sign has seen some things. It plays a key part in their business (pun intended). Elliston Place Soda Shop is Nashville’s “oldest continuously operating restaurant in its original location.” In fact, they just opened another location in Franklin, Tennessee. The iconic sign shows just how old it is. It even mentions that it is air conditioned because that was a big deal when the shop first opened. The neon colors are very basic and the image of the cartoon milkshake gives it that old school style. Almost makes me feel like it could’ve been in the movie “Grease”. At AlphaGraphics, we know how important signs are to a business, which is why we want to help you with all of your sign needs. Big or small, outdoor or indoor, color or black and white, it’s all up to you. A sign can tell a story, let us help create yours.
