Tangerine Tango is the Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone, the color company, has announced it’s Color of the Year and it’s “Tangerine Tango,” described as “a brilliant shade of reddish orange that evokes a fireball as much as fruit.”  Pantone number 17-1463 when you reference your swatch wheel.  We are not surprised as orange has been popping up as a popular branding color for our customer base, large and small. In a high school project called “ThinkQuest” students described the phychological effects of orange as being positive, of ridding the psyche of feelings of self-pity and encouraging forgiveness.  It stimulates the appetite, something known in the fast food industry for decades.  The Wall Street Journal states that orange is a color for “cheering up people during down economies.” Now orange you glad you read this? Here is a fun link to a slide show of all the tangerine tango clothing designs shown during New York Fashion Week: http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone/category.aspx?ca=88
