Vehicle Wraps in Raleigh Frequently Asked Questions

At AlphaGraphics Raleigh, we’ve been helping local businesses wrap their vehicles for many years.

Over this time, we’ve had many people ask us very similar questions about the vehicle wraps and design services that we offer. So, we’ve decided to create a Frequently Asked Questions blog post to help answer any potential questions you might have.  This will help you make a more informed decision when it comes to a custom car wrap in Raleigh. AlphaGraphics is different in that our design, production, and installation teams work closely together, thereby ensuring your car, truck, or van will look like a beautiful, seamlessly wrapped vehicle.

What Kind of Wraps are Available?

We can wrap any kind of vehicle imaginable. Boats, small and large trucks, RV’s and even airplanes are all wrappable!  We have seen some ingenious individuals take a standard shipping container and wrap it in a very colorful design. They then placed the container near the local freeway so that it would get tens of thousands of free impressions from cars passing by on a daily basis! Perforated Window GraphicsBoat wraps are entirely water-proof and will make your watercraft stand out. You don’t have to get an expensive paint job if you want to change the look and feel of your boat. The benefit of getting it wrapped is that you can change wraps easily, whereas a new paint job is a major expensive undertaking. You can also opt for partial vehicle wraps or perforated window wraps.

How Long Does the Entire Process Take?

Once the client has signed off on the designs, it can take us a day to several days to correctly print and laminate the graphics for the car. We print the graphics in sections and then meticulously reassemble them for a completely seamless look. Once the graphics have been printed, our expert installers will painstakingly install the graphics on each section of your car. This process can take several hours to a full day – depending on the complexity of the design and how big your vehicle is. If the wrap is super complicated, we may need your car for more than one day to ensure everything is perfect.

How Long Will My New Car Wrap Last?

The average lifespan of a car wrap is around five years. However, it should be noted that the lifespan could be much lower if you hire a fly-by-night company to design, print, and install.  AlphaGraphics has years of experience, and our printers and the finishing materials we use are state-of-the-art. Keep in mind that the vinyl material on a car wrap can collect dirt and dust, so it’s wise to wash your car by hand now and then. Use non-detergent car soap and a bucket of cold or lukewarm water and a sponge to clean it.  Drying can be done by hand with a chamois.

Do I Have to Design My Own Car Wrap?

Not at all! That’s the beauty of allowing a full-service shop like AlphaGraphics handle your car wrap. Our expert graphic artists will talk with you and get an idea of what you’re looking for. They will then get to work and design a wrap that you can preview before it’s installed. Many clients prefer to let our designers do the heavy work because they know “best practices” when it comes to vehicle wrap design.

How Many Visual Impressions Will My Car Wrap Generate?

The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) estimates that a single vehicle wrap can generate anywhere between 35,000 and 75,000 impressions a day. This number is highly contingent upon where the vehicle is. If it’s on a congested freeway stuck in traffic, or if it’s parked on the side of a very busy road, the impressions it generates will be much higher than one parked in a parking lot.
