Matt Haar: Owner
How did you get your start in AlphaGraphics?
My uncle owned several AlphaGraphics franchises in the Denver, Colorado area and was looking for support to help grow his operations. I moved to Colorado with my wife, Haley, as one of his production managers.
Tell us about your background in printing..
My education started in my uncle’s stores learning both offset and digital printing techniques. Once acquiring the Kansas City location, I continued to develop knowledge in the large format printing area. Altogether I have almost 10 years of printing experience.
What kind of projects do you enjoy working on most?
I enjoy projects where I can help take stresses off my customers’ plates, whether it’s getting ready to open a new business or putting on a trade show.
What are some reasons business’ should partner with a commercial printer?
A successful printer is always looking for a partnership or relationship with their customers. We are looking to help the customer look their best or put their best foot forward with their own customers, while producing things in the most efficient manner.
What is the number one challenge your clients bring to you that you help them overcome?
I would say delivering products in the time frame they need. Sometimes we have several days to produce jobs but often it’s only one or two days.
What is the best part about being business partners with your spouse?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and seeing the fruits of our labors together.
How would your daughters describe your job?
My daughters would say that I go to meetings and make stuff.
What are some of your favorite activities?
I enjoy being outside; whether that’s yard work, playing with my daughters or lighting up the barbecue.
What do you like most about Kansas City?
I like that there is always something to do. We love to take the girls to the zoo – they really love the new penguin exhibit!
